Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 11/6/16
Post by: The Aul Troot on 12/06/2016 at 14:42
This week has seen an improvement in fishing conditions although the dry fly activity has remained at a subdued level with lures still very dominant. Nymphs and buzzers are reappearing as successful tackle as the fish rise within the water column. Today's rain is a welcome amount as a freshening of the water might improve productivity. The forecast for the coming week suggests a continuation of the cooler and overcast conditions which will keep the water temperatures lower.

The best recorded catches this week fell to; A Murray, Gardenstown, 25 fish over several visits, (white nomad, black fritz, budgie), S Edwards, Turriff, 22 fish, (cat's whisker), J Nicol, Stonehaven, 17 fish, (orange lure), K Wright, Aberdeen, 10 fish, (bloodworm, buzzers), A McRobbie, Maud, 9 fish, (dry fly, buzzers), P Watt, Gardenstown, 7 fish, (black nymphs), I Burnett, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, (black fritz), S Simpson, Turriff, 6 fish, (white, green lures), J McKay, Macduff, 5 fish, (bloodworm, white nomad), J Alexander, Macduff, 5 fish, (buzzers).
