The past week has been one of two parts with the first few days presenting good fishing conditions whilst the past three days have been dominated by a cold westerly wind with a corresponding drop in temperature. Despite these variations some good catches were recorded and the importance of following the fish feeding depths were again emphasised.
A record catch of 74 fish in a single five hour session session was recorded by A Gibson, Gardenstown using a variety of lures and including three double hook ups in his session. Other catches were very good and included; A Gibson, Gardenstown, 74 fish, ( diawl bach, WSW, cormorant), A Murray, Gardenstown, 47 fish over several sessions, (white fritz, white nomad), A Cowie, Fraserburgh, 31 fish, (pink blob, coffee fritz), P Keir, Fyvie, 15 fish, (black fritz), J Mackay, Macduff, 14 fish, (yellow dancer), C Watson, New Deer, 11 fish, (nymph, bloodworm montanta), I Watt, Turriff, 8 fish, (black buzzer), K Fraser, Greeness, 8 fish, (blob), M Ewen, Turriff, 7 fish, (grey damsel nymph), D Apedale, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, (montana), N Thomson, Turriff, 6 fish, (CDC, buzzer).
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open to the public from 8am til 5pm. Opening hours will be revised over the next few weeks as conditions dictate. Notification of opening times will be included in the weekly reports. Boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery and up to date information on current conditions can be made by contacting Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
