Title: Nice fly from the Hutt
Post by: Mike Barrio on 31/01/2016 at 12:40
Nice fly from Tim Trengrove, on the Hutt near Wellington NZ

Tied on a Grip 11011BL #16 ......... I'm sure this would be quite at home on our local rivers too :z16

Any idea how strong those  grip hooks are??  Strong enough for big fish?

Hi Barry,
The Grip fine wire hooks are similar to and no stronger than other maker's fine wire models  like Partridge. So far, I've found them to be good and like the upturned hook point.

Hi Tim ...... Welcome to the forum :z16

Love your flies, most of us fish barbless on our local rivers and from what I've seen from your photos, your dries and spiders would be very much at home here too.

Best wishes,
Mike
