Something that came up in another thread .....................

It would be great if we could use our real names instead of made-up 'usernames'.

When we meet on the river bank we use our real names ..... it simply makes sense to do so on here too :z16

We are sitting at 2422 forum members ...... but how many of those are active members, possibly about 100, maybe less  *smiley-grin*

I'm not a numbers sort of guy ( ask my accountant ) and having 2000 in the member list makes finding folk hard work and can slow things down.

I'm therefore going to heavily prune that membership list on a regular basis to better reflect the level of active members.

That's the exercise completed ....... We have 255 active members in our community, that's a lot more than I thought :z12

Using our real names is proving a huge improvement, and makes for a much better community of friends  :)

I feel a sense of loss, I thought I had 2000 mates, only to find out I have 255.

That's the membership update done. The software certainly saves a lot of admin time, works well, and it can be run on a regular basis.

I did another membership update last weekend to better reflect the level of active members on the forum.

We were sitting at about 900 members, but after removing those who haven't logged in or participated for a while the list is now at 500.
