Fifth trip to the Dee this year and BINGO!
Despite the rain the river was just right and it felt fishy. Sure enough, around 8 o'clock the line tightened and this little beauty came out to play.

Lovely scrap and a quick recovery and we both went on our way. That is my first Dee salmon in a very long time and with the way the Dee is this year it makes me very happy that I managed to catch one.
I am having the best salmon year of my life!

Thanks Jim.
Can I also say again how good mikes new nylon is? The 11lb stuff is great for #10 Silver Stoats. It was also the first outing for my new Vision Tank salmon reel. Just like Pavarotti, it is a big beast but sings beautifully! :z4

Thanks Allan. As Arnie says in Terminator Genisys, "old, not obsolete". :z4
I'm sure I will manage a trip to Beannie before the season ends but I will need to look hard at dates. Let me get back to you.
