Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 6/6/15
Post by: The Aul Troot on 07/06/2015 at 15:09
The past week has seen a continuation of the adverse fishing conditions with low air and water temperatures and a persistent cold wind which has resulted in very poor fish activity and low returns. The fish are not feeding aggressively and are generally 'plucking' at anglers presentations. Surface activity is also minimal although the dry fly has accounted for a few fish this past three days. Although most anglers were successful to some extent the best recorded catches fell to; A Cowie, Fraserburgh, 15 fish, (diawl bach), A Murray, Gardenstown, 12 fish, (black fritz), M Rawding, Fraserburgh, 9 fish, (black fritz).
The forecast for the coming week is suggesting a moderate rise in temperature up to mid week and the winds are easing. Hopefully this will accelerate fish activity and the real emergence of dry fly presentations.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am til 9.30pm and hours will be adjusted as conditions improve. Visitors and novices are welcome and booking is not necessary. Boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery. For up to date information phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
