Klinkhammer Scott and Spiderman Sandy have been catching some very nice fish using Barrio Troutcast Tippet recently ..... and I've had a few nice ones myself
I've been making a point of using the simple knots that I used to see most anglers using at Haddo, 3 turn water knots and both 4 & 5 turn blood knots without a tuck ...... these have proved very reliable for me with Troutcast
Best wishes
Mike

i'm up to a dozen or so good fish (not as good fish as Sandy and Scott good fish.... :z4) with the new material with no issues whatsoever. i really like it ! :z16 holds sink paste well, much better than Stroft, has just the right amount of stretch and so far any knot has seated and held well. (3 to 7 turn Blood and Uni to Uni for joining tippets and Uni and Davy knots for hook eyes from size 18 to seatrout sized flies.
this one's a real win-win on all levels :z16
cheers,
marc

All sounds good to me and I like the salmon sizes. :z16
Can anyone say yah or nay to the orvis knot though? And the perfection Loop?

Can anyone say yah or nay to the orvis knot though? And the perfection Loop?
I have experimented with both on the 3x - no bother at all, formed and held without issue

Thanks mate. I can see an order being placed soon.

I bought the 13, 11 and 9lb nylon for salmon fishing and I have to say that I am impressed. It does not break with the Orvis knots, single loops or Perfection loops.
I lost a few flies over the weekend on the bottom of the Alness and you really have to pull on the line to snap the 13lb tippet. Strangly enough where it did break was at the loop to loop and not the fly. Lovely work Mr B. :z14
I also have to add some comments about the ISS line. This line is fantastic! It turns over perfectly and shoots a very long way (if you manage the running line coils properly). It can handle ten foot Rio sinking tips no problem and even tapered nylon leaders turn over nicely. Once again Mike, top job!
:z14 :z14 :z14
Now if you could just do that line in a 7/8 for a 12 double hander..... :z4 :z4 :z4
:z1
-
Thanks for your kind comments Euan, I'm really pleased that you like your tippet :z16
The ISS 7/8 line is currently on order at the factory and should be available soon ...........
Cheers

Starting to get plenty of repeat orders for Troutcast now, which is always a good sign that a new product will hopefully be a popular one

Finally I had time testing these tippets.
Fishing greyling few days, using almost 0.12 and 0.14 what I could say:
- no breaking
- no memory
- enough strong for greyling 40-48cm (my biggest these days)
more:
- I would like to see in shop 0.10 and 0.08 :) for special situation

Hi Djordje,
Great stuff, I'm really pleased that you are enjoying your fishing with Troutcast Tippet ....... and thanks for the great photos
I'm not sure about a 0.10mm product, it would probably be too light for our UK market, but I will seriously consider this when I place the next stock order at the factory.
Best wishes
Mike

Mike,
With all this salty talk these days is there any chance of heavier weights in your excellent tippet material?
It would be nice to have a 15lb for salmon, but also 18 and 20 for both salmon and pollock.
PLEASE!!!
:z1
-
Thanks Euan ...... I'll look into it :z16
Best wishes

Love the fish; love the photo! Please satisfy my curiosity - which river/country did you catch that barbel in? It's so pleasing to see cracking hard-fighting fish like barbel getting overdue recognition as a worthy quarry from so many fly fishermen now.
