Glen of Rothes trout and Coarse fishery

With wintry weather returning this week it unsettled fishing for anglers and picking the best days to fish was more important than which fly to choose.Finding fish was the key as they were up and down throughout the week.Flies varied daily from lures to buzzers to wets and the usuals caught in each.Aaron Lonie had 7 fish,Graham Gibson had 8,Michael Work had an 8lb 4ozs fish,Gordon Grant 7,Nigel Dyson 8,Bob Mann had 10 with his best at 5lb 15ozs,Jim Eddie had a 8lb 4ozs fish and Dave Morrison had a fish of 6lb 13ozs.The Osprey is now back safe and good to see.

Coarse Loch

Some good fish caught this week with Roach and bream to good sizes and plenty of perch caught which is good to see.Carp and Ide also showed for anglers and the best of the baits was maggots with sweetcorn a close second. The Coarse competition on the 24th May is now full.Drawing of pegs is at 9am and start at 10am finish at 3pm for weigh in and winner takes all.Reserve names will be taken. This wil be a monthly event from now on for coarse anglers with 10 dedicated platforms on the loch with plenty of space between them.

Millbuies Trout fishery

A good week of fishing on the lochs with plenty of fish being caught and fighting well.Blues are certainly delighting anglers with how hard they are fighting.Best flies have been typically wet and dry patterns with buzzers with being a natural loch and plenty of feeding. As a reminder the limit for fish on the lochs are as they have been since opening are 1 blue and 1 rainbow only or 2 rainbows  for your bag limit plus catch and release,NO Brown trout are to be taken away at all in bag limits they are all to be returned to the water unharmed.2 new boats ,making a total of 6 boats will be in the water shortly for angling.
