The weather this past week has been quite conducive to good fishing with average temperatures, less wind than in the past weeks and intermittent sunshine with good cloud cover at times. Whilst undoubtedly buzzers have been the main choice and have proved very successful with black on black combinations being most favoured, some success was still obtained with nymphs and lures. The best recorded catches this week fell to; P Watt, Turriff, 20 fish, (bloodworm, black buzzer), N Thomson, Turriff, 19 fish, (buzzer), A Gibson, Gardenstown, 14 fish, (nymphs, WSW), I Watt, Turriff, 14 fish, (buzzer), P Cowie, Fraserburgh, 13 fish, (buzzer), C Watson, New Deer, 10 fish, (white buzzer), A Murray, Gardenstown, 10 fish, (black fritz), C McKay, Whitehills, 9 fish, (olive fritz), R McKay, Whitehills, 8 fish, (cormorant, nomad), P Keir, Fyvie, 7 fish, (black fritz, buzzer).
The forecast for the coming week suggests a continuation of the same weather patterns and we should expect reasonable catches with the fish now feeding more aggressively. We are also seeing more surface activity and anglers are now looking forward to dryfly lures.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is open seven days from 8am til 8pm. Visitors and novices are always welcome and booking is not necessary. Boats (where required) rods and tackle are available for hire at the fishery. Many thanks for the many messages of support following our recent break in - no news of culprits as yet!

As suggested we will compile a list of missing equipment from last weeks break in however some of it belonged to the fishery staff and we can't remember the makes and it might take a while to contact anglers who had rods stolen.
