Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 22/3/15
Post by: The Aul Troot on March 29, 2015, 12:22:24 PM
The past week has continued to produce variable weather conditions with always a persistent wind and lower than seasonal temperatures. The fish appear to be feeding deeper and although buzzers continue to yield catches these are at deeper levels and lures continue to account for most of the fish caught. The continued success of intermediate lines also indicate lower feeding depths and the success of a faster retrieved fly.
The best catches for the past week fell to; A Gibson, Gardenstown, 30 fish, (olive WSW), K Fraser, Greeness, 16 fish, (orange fritz), A Murray, Gardenstown, 15 fish, (black fritz), J Dyer, Turriff, 12 fish, (cat's whisker), M Stewart, Methlick, 11 fish, (green, black lure), C Watson, New Deer, 10 fish, (black fritz, olive WSW), N Thomson, Turriff, 10 fish, (buzzers), J West, Fraserburgh, 9 fish, (various lures), A Riddell, Aberdeen, 8 fish, (orange fritz).
The forecast for the coming week suggest a continuation of mixed conditions with a westerly wind and intermittent showers and lower than average temperatures.
