Post by: The Aul Troot on 15/03/2015 at 14:17
The overhead conditions this week have been acceptable for fishing although hampered for the first four days by persistent cold winds which led to the fish lying deep and the water temperature dropping overnight. During the second half of the week conditions improved although the temperature remained low, the fish rose in the water column and were receptive to buzzers and nymphs.
The best recorded catches this week fell to; P Keir, Fyvie, 55 fish (over 2 visits), (black fritz, black WSW), J West, Fraserburgh, 16 fish, (pink blob), N Thomson, Turriff, 10 fish, (buzzers), G Ellington, Ellon, 9 fish, (black buzzers), D Frome, Turriff, 8 fish, (black humungus), M Ferguson, Turriff, 7 fish, (olive damsel, hare's ear), C Field, Fraserburgh, 7 fish, (buzzers), A Smith, Ellon, 5 fish, (black buzzers).
The forecast for this week is that it should remain settled but that temperatures would continue below average.
