Post by: The Aul Troot on 01/03/2015 at 13:19
The past week has seen a continuation of the cold nights followed by low daytime temperatures which has resulted in the water temperature being low and drawing the fish down in the water column. Apart from an occasional catch on nymphs and buzzers the bulk of the fish caught this week fell to various lures with blobs and WSW being predominant with the Montana nymph fished deep also yielding returns.
The best recorded catches this week fell to; M Stewart, Methlick, 16 fish, (montana, nomad), A Murray, Gardenstown, 14 fish, (red/white lure, pink fritz), A Gibson, Gardenstown, 10 fish, (WSW, orange blob), S McLean, Fraserburgh, 10 fish, (olive/white VSA), B Whyte, Fraserburgh, 9 fish, (sunburst blob), C Field, Fraserburgh, 7 fish, (various lures), F McAlley, Dyce, 5 fish, (montana, olive WSW), P Elrick, Dyce, 5 fish, (montana).
