Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery repor w/e 31/1/15
Post by: The Aul Troot on 02/02/2015 at 12:00
The weather this week has again been the dominant factor and whilst the water ha remained clear of icing, the wind, gale force at times, and the intermittent showers of rain, hail and snow, combined with low temperatures, especially with the wind chill factor, has deterred anglers from appearing in numbers.
However, despite the adverse weather conditions some anglers enjoyed success with the best among them being;
N Thomson, Turriff, 9 fish, (yellow dancer, olive damsel), C Allen, Peterhead, 8 fish, (budgie), K Fraser, Greeness, 8 fish, (orange fritz), G Ellington, Ellon, 7 fish, (black nymphs), J Baird, Peterhead, 5 fish, (damsel nymph), M Stewart, Methlick, 4 fish, (cormorant, cat's whisker), J Mackay, Macduff, 4 fish, (yellow/orange blob).
The forecast for the following week is not too encouraging with continued winds and showers and a prediction of lower temperatures with the possibility of icing.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8am til 4pm. Visitors and novices are welcome and booking is not necessary. Boats (when required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery. For up to date information on conditions phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
