Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 8/11/14
Post by: The Aul Troot on 09/11/2014 at 15:42
The past week has featured rain as the predominant weather and has led to much increased water flow with the water being coloured during most of the week. However, today (Sunday) the water is now showing signs of clearing and hopefully, in the absence of more rainfall, the fishing will return to normal. With the forecast predicting lower temperatures and the increasing mention of frosts, we can expect the fishing to settle into winter with a consistent and predictable feeding pattern.
Despite the adverse conditions some anglers braved the weather and recorded reasonable catches among which were; A Gibson, Gardenstown, 12 fish, (mini WSW, olive), G Littler, Newmachar, 8 fish, (yellow fritz), W McLean, Linlithgow, 8 fish, (cat's whisker), N Garden, Newmachar, 7 fish, (various lures), J West, Peterhead, 7 fish, (green/white nymph), B Thomson, Aberdeen, 5 fish, (lime green nomad).
Delgatie Castle Trout fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8am til 4pm or as light permits. Visitors and novices are always welcome and boats (where required) rods and tackle are available for hire at the fishery. Booking is not necessary and the fishing will remain open over the Christmas period apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
