Title: High water bonanza?
Post by: Mike Barrio on 13/08/2007 at 08:52
After all the rain we've had recently I would expect there to be a good head of grilse in the Don, but I'm not hearing of many catches  :z15

Any news? Have you heard of any good catches?

Best wishes
Mike

Caught my first Salmon  :z16 on the Don (at the papermill) on Saturday... Think there have been 4 caught in the last week or so.

I was champing at the bit last Wednesday when the water level was dropping nicely but couldn't make it due to other commitments.  My frustration reached exploding level when, at 9pm, an acquaintance sent me a text/photo showing him holding a fresh run 17 pounder which he had just caught up near Alford.

That was his second of the day, his first being a 6 pounder in the morning. :z16
