Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 21/6/14
Post by: The Aul Troot on 22/06/2014 at 21:27
The past week has again been dominated by a lack of meaningful rainfall and a persistent north/north east breeze. These conditions coupled with intermittent sunshine and a full day of sun on Wednesday led the fish to be feeding at different depths and, at times, proving very evasive to contact. Overall most anglers managed to land catches with the best recorded being;
A Murray, Gardenstown who enjoyed a week's holiday on the water and landed a total of 83 fish for his six days outings using a yellow fritz and a white nomad.
N Thomson, Turriff, 14 fish, (bloodworm/buzzers), C Watt, St Fergus, 14 fish, (wet flies/WSW), I Watt, Turriff, 10 fish, (buzzers), M Burnett, Gardenstown, 10 fish, (cat's whiskers), K Reid, Gardenstown, 9 fish, (buzzers), C Field, Fraserburgh, 8 fish, (buzzers), D Stewart, Aberdeen, 7 fish, (montana/buzzers).
The coming week promises a continuation of the same weather although some days may see a slight drop in temperature. The conditions however remain favourable and hopefully lead to continued good catches.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open 7 days from 8:00am with last casts remaining at 10:00pm. For evening fishers the start time should not be later that 7:00pm.
Visitors and novices are welcome at the fishery and boats (where required) rods and tackle is available for hire.
