Just when the river was getting back to a decent level for the trout fly fishing after weeks of high water……… :cry…………It was running across the road at Kintore today – not bothering about the bends - when I passed at about 4.00PM. At 7.30 this morning it was only a foot or so up at the same spot, most of the rise came later in the day. Have seen that often on the Don, a lag, but when she comes up she REALLY does! This "summer" has been a bit of a write-off for the trout fly fishing on the river due to gales and high water. :cry. Many Sundays have looked OK though. :mad
