Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 25/1/14
Post by: The Aul Troot on 26/01/2014 at 18:01
This week's report has been abbreviated due to the weather conditions and the lack of activity amongst both anglers and fish. A week dominated by rain, leading to coloured water, wind, leading to adverse casting conditions and low temperatures leading to very cold anglers. However, despite these conditions we are able to report that of the anglers who appeared, there were no blank days although the numbers caught do not merit entry in our top anglers table being mostly in the 2 to 4 range with the exception of A Murray of Gardenstown who landed 10 fish using a white/pink fritz and N Thomson of Turriff who had 7 fish on buzzers.
The forecast for the coming week indicates a lowering in temperature and the mention of snow on the horizon. At the time of writing (Sunday) we are enduring very blustery conditions and a constant precipitation or mixed rain and snow. Hopefully this will settle and we may yet enjoy a reasonable week's fishing.
Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8:00am til 4:30pm (if light permits). Visitors and novices are welcome and booking is not necessary. Boats (if required) rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery.
