All,
By chance I came across a free online library with numerous fly fishing books. Not all books can be read, but some true classics can. For example this one, Floating flies and how to dress them, by F.M. Halford:

I found it very interesting to read that, back in the day, pike scales made good wings for Black Gnats!

I know a small fish called the Bleak used to be netted and its scales used as fake Mother of Pearl, but thats really interesting about the wings. I must try it ;)

Rob...... the wing thing.... does that mean you can now say you'll be fly fishing with Pike rather than for them ??? :! :z7
