Title: Lochter Report - Despondent Ducks at Lochter
Post by: Howard & Stuart on 21/01/2014 at 15:14
With the wet and windy weather of last week, even the ducks were starting to look fed up with the constant precipitation and were seen to look upwards in the vain hope of a glint of sunshine.
However our regular anglers are a hardier brood and for those who chose to challenge the elements, there was rewarding sport to be had.
In education there are the 3 R’s but last weeks winter tactics were the 3 B’s:- Bloodworm, Buzzers and Blobs.
One the bloodworm were Jonathan Petrie from Aberdeen who had 7 nice fish, Graham Reid from Peterhead with 6 and Stuart Esslemont from Newburgh with 4.
On buzzers, mainly fished with a sink tip line, were Ross Middleton with 8 fish, John Preston with 5 fish and Sean Wilson with 4 fish.
On blobs were Kenny Riddell from Aberdeen with 7 fish, Mark Stephenson from Portlethen with 6 fish and Ben Lawson from Cove with 5 fish.
A final remainder that the Robbie Burns Pairs competition takes place this Sunday 26th January and there are still a limited amount of spaces available. Cast off is at 9.30am and to heat you up at lunchtime a splendid plate of haggis, neeps and tatties will be provided.
