Hello everyone, i am new to the forum and not sure if i should be asking this question here. I have a rod called the rothiemurchus trout rod and i am looking for info on the make, it is a 9ft 3 piece rated 6weight with a spare tip. it is beautifully finished and very light and i have had it for about 2 years now and have never used it and dont think it has been used before so hopefully you can help me find who the maker was and any other info regarding price, how many were made etc.

Logic dictates the first place to ask (other than here, obviously :!) would be at Rothiemurchus Estate

Wouldn't surprise me if it was something the shop/fishery/estate had produced as a limited edition.
H

Itried them about 1 year ago but the lady in charge could not help me. I know that they hire out rods on the ponds for rainbows but i think this rod is a wee bit too classy to hire out, in saying that i dont know a lot about rods, i am just going by looks!

Welcome to the forum ......... :z16
I think I saw these on a website a few years back, you'll have to post a photo including rod tube to see if I'm right. I think they were a batch of rods from one of the usual sources in the Far East, I think I remember the name being printed on the side of the cordura tube?
Best wishes

Fairly sure I'm right, but can't be sure without seeing some photos of the rod and tube. I've just been having a browse through some old notes and I think they would have been sold around 2008 up to about 2011, for the usual £75 to £100 price for those rods at the time?
The fishery website that they were sold on no longer exists.
Cheers

The branding is not very clear in your photo, but yes, that looks like the one that I remember.

They used to sell them at the fishery in Aviemore, think they did an outfit with rod, reel and line as well.

Thanks for that Andy

........ and I'm pretty sure that it was the old fishery website that I found them on originally too. They caught my attention at the time because they were cheaper than all the other sourced products of that type, which were available under various brand names.
Cheers
