Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 11/1/14
Post by: The Aul Troot on 12/01/2014 at 20:21
The past week has seen overhead conditions improve with only light breezes and intermittent showers and although the air temperatures were on the low side the conditions suited the anglers. The fish however presented more of a problem with a distinct reluctance to take and showing a reluctance to feed at any water level.
The water has now cleared after the rains and we have remained free of ice until today (Sunday) when a thin film of ice is covering 25% of the water surface although leaving enough clear area to allow fishing.
The catches this week have been more difficult as the fish have not responded to presentation. However, several anglers still managed a days effort with the following catches recorded; D Stewart, Aberdeen, 7 fish, (bloodworm/montana),  C Field, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, (buzzers/blob), E Hall, Cuminestown, 6 fish, (yellow lure), S Mclean, Fraserburgh, 4 fish, (black fritz).
Conditions for the coming week are forecast as favourable although the effect of lower temperatures on water must be considered.
Delgatie Castel Trout fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8:00am til 4:00pm and visitors and novices are welcome. Booking is not necessary and boats (where required), rods and tackle is available for hire at the fishery.
