Title: Artloch (to 27 May)
Post by: Stuart at Artloch on 30/05/2007 at 00:27
The changeable weather this past week at Artloch meant that the fish were below the surface at times, but when the wind dropped, the hatches came and so did the trout, particularly during the evening.   Lures have made a comeback with Black and Olive WSWs and Black and/or Olive GH Fritz proving particularly successful; must be something to do with the tadpoles.   A variety of wets and nymphs have also been attractive together with dark buzzers.   When the fish are rising, small dark dries have again proved best.   Examples of baskets include G Sherriffs with 11, D Brown with 12, while B Ross improved with 14.   S Ray tempted 15, best at 5lbs, while P Green released 22, best at 11lbs 12 ozs, including a nice brownie circa 1lbs,  but top rod was W Rainnie with 23 (17 in 2 hours!).   Our larger fish have also been seen and C Thomson returned a good bow of 8 lbs, while A Fraser released a cracking fish circa 12lbs.
