Hi All,

For those of you who don't read Sexyloops, the annual Scottish Gathering takes place this coming weekend, Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th May 2013 at Strathdon.

We will be casting on the Lonach field both days and have access to the adjoining stretch of river by kind permission of Richard Marsh.

There will be a couple of distance shootouts on Saturday and Sunday and on Sunday afternoon there are usually a few demos.  These gatherings bring together some of the best angling, casting and instructional talent from all corners of the world.  We all learn a lot from each other each year it apart from knowledge gained, it is always extremely good fun.

Prizes for the shootouts have been kindly provided by Mike Barrio & Paul Arden and there will be a prize each day for the highest placing non instructor however, non instructors can win overall.

Always a great weekend, I hope to see some of you there.

Hear Hear. A really cracking weekend. Some of the finest casters in the world will be there, so if you can make it take advantage of a free masterclass  :z12

Prizes are as follows.....

Saturday - open

1st - Sexyloops "Hot Torpedo" rod
2nd - Choice of Barrio Fly line & a copy of Carl McNeils new DVD
3rd - Choice of Barrio Fly line

Highest placing non-instructor - Choice of Barrio Fly lin and a Barrio hat

Sunday

1st - Choice of two Barrio Fly Lines
2nd - Choice of Barrio Fly line & a copy of Carl McNeils new DVD
3rd - Choice of Barrio Fly line

Shame about that Allan you missed a really good day, casting, demo's, chat and laughs. It's amazing what you can learn just from watching some of the worlds best casters doing their thing.  :z14

Had an great weekend up at strathdon learned alot and Its just pretty cool getting to see what some of these guys can do with a fly rod   :z14 also got the chance to play with plenty differnt rods lines etc always good.  Winning the fly line was a bonus well chuft thanks mike and thanks Ben for inviting us back up.

Will definatly be out practicing more inbetween fishing.

A very enjoyable Sunday afternoon; nice to put some faces to names, and to see some great casters in action.
I scored a very well deserved last place in the shoot out. 3 minutes flogging a 12 wt was plenty, thanks!

Michael, give me a shout next week and you can have a play with the 6wt switch rod nearby.

Tillieplonker in your case Rob.  We generally do not name waters in reports, you know, just like you pike fishers don't.  The water in question is stocked but it does have a head of wild fish.

I was really surprised to read about it. You may remember that we had a great time over there a couple of years ago. We were actually thinking about going back next year (no Scotland for us this year sadly). Not so sure about that now...

BTW, did you know Cruachan Lodge is for sale? 310K and you're the man  :z16
