Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 16/6/13
Post by: The Aul Troot on 17/03/2013 at 13:10
The weather for the past week has reduced activity both amongst the anglers and the fish with conditions from Sunday through to Friday being very difficult for the angler with low temperatures and a persistent North/North Easterly wind which always appears to adversely affect fishing. Although a reasonable amount of surface activity has been seen it has proved difficult for the anglers to contact the fish with any consistency.

Among the hardier souls who ventured on to the water the best recorded catches were:

A Gibson, Gardenstown, 14 fish, (Various Lures), G Ellington, Ellon, 14 fish, (Buzzers), S MacLean, Fraserburgh, 9 fish, (Various Lures), C Watt, St Fergus, 8 fish, (Blob,Bloodworm,Buzzers), C Fraser, Turriff, 7 fish, (Orange Blob, Buzzers), N Paterson, Turriff, 6 fish, (Bloodworm).

C Watt included a 9lb fish in his total catch of 8.

Although the forecast for the next few days indicates a slight rise in temperature it will remain unseasonably cold with rain, sleet and snow. The second half of next week may see better conditions although the long range for March suggest that temperatures will remain below normal.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open 7 days from 8:00am til 5:00pm. Opening hours will be extended after the "time change". Booking is not necessary and boats (where required), rods and tackle are available for hire. For further information phone Bob on 07980 999 006.
