Title: Whilst I wait for a tube fly vice

...... so I got bored tying conventional stuff as I wanted to tie tubes up.
I got to thinking that I'd be as well tying something large. So I did.

It's a monster but I kind of like it and, water allowing, I am going to fish with it  :wink
Not my best effort, but I've not tied in a long time - it's good to be back :grin A few other of today's efforts lying on the table behind.

One of my most successful salmon flies years ago was the Purple Ally's, so no reason why something similar in pink shouldn't be very productive :cool: Ian Masson in Turriff used to tie the purple ones.

I do recall one of the southern Orvis guides writing a piece in FF & FT mag about Pink and predatory fish. He was on a Thames weir pool knocking out big Pike on a nice pink baitfish. Also had a large Brwon Trout is I remember rightly.
