Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 19/1/13
Post by: The Aul Troot on 20/01/2013 at 23:00
This weeks report is in an abbreviated form with only the occasional "hardy soul" landing an occasional fish through holes in the ice. The last seven days have seen the fishing succumb to the weather with the water virtually covered in ice although Friday brought a brief respite where the ice retreated under the influence of a fresh breeze. At the time of writing (Sunday am), about a third of the water is fishable and three anglers are enjoying reasonable sport.
The forecast for the coming week does not give any cause for good cheer with the predictions of more snow and the continuation of the low temperatures.
The most successful fishers this week have been the otters and cormorants, and whilst the presence of wildlife can have its "good side", it is difficult to feel too benevolent when they are feeding from your pocket.
Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water with the 2012 winners fish off fixed for the 20th April 2013.
