Title: SexyLoops Rod
Post by: Djordje Andjelkovic on 10/12/2012 at 16:42
Just in the air (shops) Pro, Competition (hot Torpedo) and Instructor Rod

I tried all three models of new brand. Some with SLX and some with GT25.

Nice combination!

I think Bernd and Mike could tell more about its.

Cheers Djordje

Hi Djordje :z16

I tried one of the new Sexyloops rods at the Scottish Gathering back in May ...... nice, very nice and it was certainly great fun with the GT125 line on it

I have one of the rods now, but I haven't been out to play with it yet, as I don't enjoy casting on ice :z3

Best wishes
Mike

Would be good to see some numbers (CCS) on the blank/rod, Bernd have you got one, and have you measured it?

Would like to know if my estimates where close  :wink

When Mike eventually comes out of hibernation (the weather warms up) and brings it over for me to play with, I'll CCS it here.  Won't be a perfect measurement as I don't have a good permanent rig but should be fairly close.

Cheers

what's CCS ?  :X2  :z7  :z4

It's a set of objective measurements that tell you how accurate a rod is Marc  :z7

so, the higher the number, the more accurate it is ?   ;D

Pah...whats wrong with a waggle and a quick bend with the tip on the ceiling. It worked for Hardy's for years ;)

Probably, it's just nice sometimes to have a objective set of numbers to compare a rod. Subjective rants are plentiful  :z4

They are in Paul's new shop at http://secure.sexyloops.com/shop/index.php?_a=product&product_id=2 (http://secure.sexyloops.com/shop/index.php?_a=product&product_id=2) ...... nice to see the Barrio GT125 getting a mention in the description

Was there not a heavier rod too :?
Seem to recall there being an 8 (or something like it) at 'loops Scottish 2012 gathering.
Maybe I'm imagining things.

Hi to everyone, first post here.
So, I measured a Sexyloops Pro 6wt, the ERN is 7.9 and AA is 72.
There is an 8wt prototype you have seen but Alejandro is working on another. We should have it in a couple of weeks.

Cheers,

Ákos

Hi Ákos ..... welcome to the forum :z16

Thanks for posting the details, I still haven't been out with my rod yet, the weather here is a pain!

Best wishes

Sounds like an excuse is being built for a road trip for rod testing/product development Mr B :z17  :z13

My PB distance with a #5 and #7 has been steadily improving with the GT125 line :z16

I was out for a few casts with Ben today and finally got a chance to play with the new Sexyloops rod. Great fun, I like the Competitor rod very much and I even managed to add a few more inches to my PB #5 at 103 ft and 6 inches

Top casting today Mike, looking very tidy  :z16

The rod is nice, I like it a lot although it took me a little time to tune to it as I've been casting 5wt lines on 10 rated rods recently  :z4

If I was looking for a 9' #5/6 rated rod in that price bracket, I would buy one without any hesitation.

Cheers
