Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 8/12/12
Post by: The Aul Troot on 09/12/2012 at 13:46
The past week has proved very challenging for anglers with weather conditions varying from wet to very wet and cold to very cold. Fortunately with the wet conditions the throughput of water was sufficient to keep the dreaded ice away and still at the time of writing (Sunday), we have not had any interruptions to fishing.

Conditions were very difficult and with the weather producing so much rain which, coupled with snow melt, has led to coloured water.

The forecast for the coming week, although predicting drops in temperature, at least is suggested lower rainfall and fishing conditions might improve. Best recorded catches this week were:

C Fraser, Turriff, 15 fish, (Nymphs and Buzzers), M Troup, Methlick, 11 fish, (Orange Buzzer), C Watt, St Fergus, 9 fish, (Fire Dancer).

Also recorded was a 12lb specimen to C Fraser and a 10lb fish to C Watt along with an 8lb to B White, Cairnbulg.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and is open 7 days from 8:00am til dusk. Visitors and novices are welcome and booking is not necessary. Boats (where required), rods and tackle is available for hire. For further information phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
