Why did we have to wait until September to enjoy such fishing conditions? After a summer of very mixed weather it has been most acceptable to find that the past week has been as near perfect as we would wish for. The fishing has been good with the dry fly and particularly the "daddy" being predominant whilst anglers using buzzers. nymphs and a variety of lures have also enjoyed good sport.

It has also been rewarding to see the larger specimens making an appearance with eight anglers landing fish in the 6 - 8lb range and G Watt from Turriff getting a 10lb plus specimen.

The best catches this week have been recorded as:

C MacLean, Fraserburgh, 15 fish, (Daddy/Hopper), A Murray, Gardenstown, 13 fish, (White Fritz),  D Stanford, Peterhead, 11 fish, (Daddy), J Laing, Aberdeen, 9 fish, (Daddy), G Morrison, Fraserburgh, 8 fish, (various wet flies), M Lobban, Tynemouth, 8 fish, (Cat's Whisker/Butcher), N Alton, Greeness, 8 fish, (Green/White Humungus).

The forecast for next week appears a bit more mixed especially at the beginning of the week with better prospects towards the middle and weekend.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water and visitors and novices are welcome. The fishery is open 7 days from 8:00am till 8:00pm (whilst light permits). Booking is not necessary and further information can be obtained by phoning Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
