I was in the states with work earlier in the year, and picked up a few blanks. I've only had time to build up one in the hours snatched between sleeping and being in the office. But now I'm back from holidays I've got a few pictures to share.
I built this one for the wife so subdued purists look away now.
It was a relatively cheap blank with hopkins and holloway high chrome rings, a plain reel seat, and some hot pink/magenta whippings! I'm quite chuffed with the contrast between the matte blank and the gloss epoxying.

The wife and I went on a wee canoe trip whilst visiting the outlaws. We'd had a few casting lessons in the park and found a wee shoal of small mouth bass in a sunny bay. In about half an hour she'd lost quite a few fish but finally a better fish was hooked and landed before being allowed to swim off unharmed. She was very happy with the rod and herself!
Having a test cast in the lake (Sorry Ben I promise not to watch my back cast again :oops)

The fish in question. It took a wee Olive Alex!
