Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 21/04/12
Post by: The Aul Troot on 22/04/2012 at 10:57
At last - a more settled week and a lot more activity on the fish front. Fishing was more active in the top 2 foot of the water column with dries (small and black) being quite attractive but pride of place this week went to Buzzers, again small and dark coloured which proved very successful when suspended and allowed to drift. Lures still proved useful and accounted for some good catches. The recent rainfall has again given a change of water and certainly increased surface activity.

The best catches this week fell to:

A Murray, Gardenstown, 22 fish, (Bunny Leech), A West, Fraserburgh, 10 fish, (Montana), B Milton, Buckie, 9 fish, (Buzzers), J Wilson, Cullen, 9 fish, (Buzzers), M Grant, Shropshire, 7 fish, (Buzzer/Montana), N Paterson, Turriff, 6 fish, (Buzzer).

The forecast for next week suggests a sliight rise in temperature and a lessening in wind velocity and should lead to a good weeks fishing.

Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water and is open 7 days from 8:00am til 8:00pm. Booking is not necessary and boats, rods and tackle is available for hire. Visitors are always welcome. For more information phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
