Post by: sightbob on 15/03/2007 at 23:06
looking at buying a float tube, a guideline drifter pontoon.
http://www.pikefly.com/drifter.htm
so i need waders and from what you guys say there isn't many that don't leak, so i was looking at the breathable type with seperate boots as i will also be doing alot of salmon/seatrout fishing this year, will these be anygood for floatubing?????

Looks like a nice tube
Breathables should work fine, but you will need lots of layers in the winter so make sure they are roomy enough.
the other thing to look for in tubing waders is a high back. If you are trying to make way through a healthy ripple the water reaches higher up the back than you might expect

Hi Brian

Brian float tubing ......... cool

Quick answers:

Breathables - yes, fine, you can wear layers of clothing under them to keep you warm if it gets a tad cold.

Float tube - hmmm, would suggest not buying one you haven't tried Brian

Cheers
