Title: Delgatie Castle Fishing Report w/e 15/10/11
Post by: The Aul Troot on 16/10/2011 at 14:45
The past week has been fairly settled from a weather aspect and fishing has been steady if not dramatic. All recorded fish catches this week have been much deeper in the water column so it appears that the dry fly box can be laid past for another season which is a pity as we have enjoyed some good returns on the dry fly although the absence of "daddies" has been quite noticeable.

However, it appears the era of lures and sinking lines is again upon us and we must adjust our fishing methods (reluctanty in some cases) to suit the conditions.

The best recorded catches this week have fallen to the following anglers;

K Wright, Newburgh, 19 fish, (Bloodworm), A Murray, Gardenstown, 11 fish, (Fritz), M Ewen, Turriff, 8 fish, (Snatcher), N Thomson, Turriff, 7 fish, (Buzzers), M Laing, Banff, 6 fish, (Olive Damsels).

Billy Gray and Lenny Davidson both got 5 each on Buzzers and Nomads.

The forecast for the coming week is decidedly colder and will probably drive the fish deeper.

Delgatie Castle is a Trout master water and is open from 8:00am til 6:00pm (closing time dependant on Sunset times). Booking is not necessary and boats, rods and tackle is available for hire. For further information phone Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
