Post by: The Aul Troot on 21/08/2011 at 16:18
At last. A week when we are unable to complain about the weather. It has been settled and the fish have been active leading to good sport. The fish are particularly active on the surface and immediately sub surface and during the week the best catches fell to the dry with the leading anglers being;

C MacLean, Freserburgh, 15 fish (Hoppers), R Donald, Macduff, 13 fish (Dry/Buzzer), N Thomson, Turriff, 11 fish (Buzzers), M James, Lancaster, 20 fish (Black dry), I Watt, Turriff, 10 fish (Dry)

A trio of anglers from Central Scotland, J Duncan, R Ross and A Nicol landed 32 fish on Bibio Damsels and Nymphs.

After fishing on the surface all week, James Mackay from Macduff (18) and Alan Murray from Gardenstown (12) caught their fish on white Nomad and black Fritz on Saturday. Alan included a 5lb wild brownie in his catch.

It is a pleasure to see another batch of youngsters learning the "noble art" with Abbie Gray from Turriff landing a nice fish on her first attempt. Well done Abbie!

Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water and is open seven days from 8:00am til 9:00pm. Booking is not necessary and beginners and visitors are welcome. Boats, rods and tackle is available for hire.
