Title: Lochter Report
Post by: Howard & Stuart on 01/08/2011 at 17:11
Cool to cold temperatures last week combined to make things a bit different if you were expecting to use normal mid-summer tactics.

Intermediate and sinking lines particularly over in the Muckle Troot loch worked well when combined with lures.

Ian Adam had 14 fish using a bloodworm then a bunny leech.
A Hamilton had 10 fish using an assortment of mufflers and Sandy Reid landed the same amount using a WSW.
John Williamson had 9 using the 'little devil' lure, Lenny Davidson had 12 on a cat's whisker and Bob Clark also had 12 on a black Bunny leech.
Damsels were also working well with Tyler Hay landing 15 fish and Ewen Petrie landing 13 on the fly.

There were some really good evening rises last week when dry fly tactics could then be employed.
Albert Trail caught 9 on daddy's and hoppers, David Seager caught 7 on dry flies and Jimi Carle caughts 8 on a CDC Shuttlecock.
Robert Hassin had 7 fish on an olive stimulator and R Ruxton had 7 on a spider.

Charlie Duncan from Laurencekirk made the trip up the coast worthwhile as he caught 10 on an olive nymph and his last fish was one of our tagged ones. The tagged fish was a lovely 3lb fish and he had a mighty struggle to get it to the net and collect his £50 prize.
Well done- and as there had been a re-stocking of tagged fish at Lochter there is a very good chance you could emulate Charlies luck. Warmer weather is predicted for the week ahead so summer tactics here we come!
