Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 02/07/11
Post by: The Aul Troot on 03/07/2011 at 12:23
A very settled week weatherwise and the fish have responded by feeding in the top half of the water with drys, buzzers and small wet flies giving good returns. The "Intermediate" angler is still enjoying success, with white and black fritz, cat's whisker and yellow dancer proving popular and WSW in olive and black also enticing takes.

The best recorded catches were as follows;

M Ewen, Turriff, 20 fish, Klinkhammer, Buzzers, Hopper
S Easthorpe, Mintlaw, 12 fish, CDC
P O'Donnell. York. 10 fish, Various dries
P Cooke, York, 10 fish, Buzzers
S Griffiths, Fordyce, 9 fish, White Fritz, Buzzer
N Thomson, Turriff, 8 fish, Buzzers
M James, Lancaster, 8 fish, Dry/Buzzers
B Milne, Whitehills, 7 fish, Cat's Whisker
T O'Donnel, York, 7 fish, Buzzers

The weather looks fair for the coming week until hopefully a welcome shower of rain on Wednesday/Thursday. This might help to "freshen up" the water.

Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery is a Troutmaster water which is open 7 days from 8.00am til 10pm and beginners and visitors are welcome. Bookings are not necessary and boats, rods and all tackle is available for hire.
