Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 25/06/11
Post by: The Aul Troot on 26/06/2011 at 21:33
This past week has been quite difficult for anglers with the fish up and down through the water column and the necessity to change lines and end tackle to meet these demands. Dry fly activity has been quite low with most catches being rewarded immediately sub surface on wet flies and Buzzers or at greater depths on various lures. The fish are reluctant to "take" aggressively and this is probably due to an abundance of natural food and an annoying cold breeze over the water surface. However, despite the conditions, creditable performances were achieved and with the water temperature rising, good fishing is expected for the coming week.
Best catches last week were to:

A Murray, Gardenstown, 27 fish, Cat's Whisker
S Conlan, Stuartfield, 11 fish, Bloodworm
M James, Lancaster, 14 fish, Olive Nymph
L Davidson, Macduff, 7 fish, Cormorant
N Thomson, Turriff, 7 fish, Buzzers
C Field, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, Spider
E Quirie, Turriff, 6 fish, Buzzers
G Taylor, Fraserburgh, 6 fish, Chandelier
