Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 18/06/11
Post by: The Aul Troot on 19/06/2011 at 13:53
Another week when weather conditions prevailed in that we were plagued with an annoying breeze, in the evenings particularly, which precluded the "dry fly" rise and which together with a distinct lack of fresh water, contributed to a dour week where anglers were made to work harder for fish numbers. However, despite these conditions some reasonable catches were recorded as follows;

M Smith, Peterhead, 13 fish, Cat's Whiskers
N Thomson, Turriff, 10 fish, Buzzer and Yellow Dancer
W Rainnie, Banff, 9 fish, Black WBW and Montana
F Murray, Buckie, 8 fish, Olive WSW

The following anglers each netted seven fish;

S Anderson, Peterhead, Brown Lures
J Clayton, King Edward, Olive Nymph
S Clark, Turriff, Buzzers
R Donald, Macduff, Buzzers and Dry Fly

A noticeable increase in visitor anglers was recorded this week and this trend should increase over the next two months. It is always interesting to hear how their local fishery is operated and the costs of angling in their home area. We do not appear to do so bad in the North East.

Delgatie Castle is a Troutmaster water and boats, rods and tackle is available for hire to beginners and visitors. Bookings are not necessary and further information can be obtained by calling Bob on 07980 999 006. :z15
