Hi Folks,
This is my first post on the forum.
I was wondering if anyone would able to help with some info please?
You can usually find me on the Tweed most Saturdays and Clyde on Sundays. However i am looking for a break sometime in July and was looking to come up to the Don.
I have never fished the Don before and I am looking for a decent beat that holds good streams for nymph and also Dry Fly. I am also looking for a nearby campsite or arrange to camp somewhere beside the river itself.
Any Information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi Martin
Welcome to the forum :z16
Your best bet for camping near the river is Alford ..... See http://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/caravanparks/locations/alford.asp (http://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/caravanparks/locations/alford.asp)
You'll find info for some of the Don beats on the main site www.fishingthefly.co.uk (http://www.fishingthefly.co.uk) and hopefully a forum member or two will drop you a PM with some tips for good waters to try.
Best wishes
Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply.
the campsite looks really good and is probably just the thing I am after.
What is the fishing like around Alford?
Cheers
