Title: Haddo Trout Fishery ( to April 10th )
Post by: Mike Barrio on 12/04/2011 at 12:09
Hi folks

Black Dry Spider, Dry Greenwells, Bibio, Black Mini Sedge, Deer Hair Emerger, F-Flies, Bob's Bits, Hare's Ear Emerger, Pheasant Tail Nymphs, Buzzers, Crunchers, Bloodworm and wee Damsels in black and olive have all been popular choices of fly this week.

Anglers might possibly have caught more fish with the standard flies for this this time of year, fished a foot or two down of course ...... but the sight of rising fish has enticed most folk to explore top of the water tactics. John Reid had fun with 7 fish up to 6 lb on a Snow Shoe Emerger for his short afternoon session.

Ian Brown enjoyed a good session with 14 fish up to 4½ lb, Peter Scott had 11 up to 5 lb and Ally Brown netted 11 fish up to 4 lb. The brown trout continue to feature well in the catches, Charlie Walker tempted a nice 4 pounder and Allan Tutty another cracking 5 lb brownie!

Will check the camera for any photos to post later.

Best wishes
Mike
