Title: Delgatie Castle Trout Fishery report w/e 18/09/10
Post by: The Aul Troot on 19/09/2010 at 12:36
Yet another week where weather was the dominant factor with high winds and heavy rain severely curtailing activities on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday followed by coloured water on Friday. However the end of the week produced good catches and Saturday was very productive. Some of the better catches fell to the following anglers:

Zander Hall         Macduff           16 fish
Tyler Hay            Arbroath          13 fish to 8lbs
R Smith              Perth               12 fish to 5lbs
Shaun Conlan     Stuartfield         8 fish
S Whyte             Fraserburgh      8 fish
A Gibson            Gardenstown     8 fish
L Greenlees        Aberdeen          7 fish

The weather favoured the lure fishers with Cats Whiskers, Yellow Dancers and Blobs to the fore and the most popular colour was black or a combination with black included. Buzzers followed and close second again with any combination including black to the fore. Mike Ewen found a black bloodworm to be his best lure. This week has not favoured the dry fly but settled conditions next week should see the return of surface activity.
It is always pleasing to see new faces and some have appeared this week despite the weather.
Delgatie Castle is now a Troutmaster water where learners and juniors are always welcome.
Boats, rods and all tackle available for hire.
