Hi folks
Welcome to the new forum :z16
Please feel free to register your usernames!
I will leave our old forum live for now :z3
http://p209.ezboard.com/bfishingthefly
I guess it will take a while for this new one to catch up with the approx 9000+ posts and some 797000 unique visits that the old one had
But numbers are not important ............ and I'm sure that this move will prove to be a good one
Best wishes

This looks Ok to me Mike. Same format as fred had his site on but he's moved. Might be useful to find out why in case you run up against similar problems
-
Hi Peter
Thanks for that  I spoke to Fred yesterday and everything is OK.
Guess I should really say "Welcome to the new forum"
I hope the others start to register here soon, then I can plan a date for the changeover.
I think I'll leave the old system locked, so we can read it but not post on it.
This will be the new forum very soon, the results on the poll so far have already made up my mind.
Best wishes

Well here's one bad penny that's turned up and regisitered again.
I agree with everyone else, this forum format is just fine the new ezboard format looks too much like a trendy teenager's weblog and trendy things have to keep on and on changing to keep up with fashion.
I suspect this means more work for you so good on you Mike and thanks for the effort.

Nice work Mike. You won't regret shrugging off the shackles of these nailed-on forums. With this you will have total control. You can even fckuing swear if you like, although we more gentile types might choose not to.
I would enable some form of membership confirmation before the spammers discover you.
-
Hi Mike,
New forum looks excellent. Would definately agree with putting a confirmation facility on the registration.
Cheers

Much better Mike.
It looks like a lot of the other forums I contribute to.
It might also be less Anti frequented as it's not part of eaziboard.
"You can even fckuing swear if you like"
Mind yer bloddy language you old bustard! Feels like home already...
One thing though, where's my Soundmixer emoticon? And all the others? Can we get them back? Please?

I'm here too now.
Yuku should read yuki or puki or generally crap :D
now to think of which post to bring back

How about the posts on lines, casting, leaders, tube hints and tips and the like. Treat the choice as a reference library.
Don't bring back the ones where we used to argue over rod materials, rod length, and C&R.
I'm sure all these will be raised again as more people join the forum. Can we also have a coarse fishing section? That way those of us who don't, don't have to put up with posts on how big your chubby is
Thanks for returning my wee Sound mannie to the list Mike, yer a star. :D
I'm also thinking that a FAQ section might be an option, such as the difference in nylon, the pros and cons of DT lines etc, so newbies don't have to ask the obvious questions that lead to the inevitable answers.
Thanks Fred. There are times that I can be denser than the bottom of a black hole.
This could be cooler than the last forum.
