Hi folks
"Bri" and I took a wander up to Loch Beanie today, we were glad of our waders on the way up as the path was as I remembered it, more than a wee bit damp ........ and it pretty much rained all day as well :z4
We were treated to the sight of a cracking deer on the way up and we spent the last hour of our fishing watching the repeated gallant efforts of an osprey on the far side of the loch

The trout were not really in the humour today, our thoughts were shared by another angler on the loch who had been out in the boat for the day ...... "wind direction and barometer are all wrong" he said.
There was a short hatch ( of olive beasties ) around midday and this brought a few small fish to the surface for a while. I picked up a couple of wee trout and experienced a few half-hearted swirls from fish of a similar size and I think Brian had similar results.
The new boathouse is looking grand and it kept us dry for a while as we set up the rods.
A great way to spend a Monday ....... I really enjoyed myself :z16
Best wishes
Mike

I had a great day out in great company.
I have never fished Beanie before and hope to go back as it is a really nice piece of water in fantastic setting.
It was nice to have fish rising for a while to chase, you soon forget about the rain.
At least the rain kept the midges away, they came out for a while between the showers, horrible horrible beasties.
Mike is being kind by not mentioning that I managed somehow to leave my jacket hanging up in my garage (story was bound to come out sometime) even though I had just put my camera into one of the pockets.
Getting older has some down sides.
Thanks for a shot of your fleece Mike and sorry folks no pictures from me.
Regards,
Bri.
