Title: Bug Bond alternative to varnish/epoxy
Post by: Kev Danby on 17/03/2010 at 08:39
Has any one tried this stuff http://www.bug-bond.moonfruit.com/#

Thinking about trying some but might be a bit pricey if the torch is included and only use it a few times. I guess it will set without the torch but take a little longer. A search on the net will most likely find a less costly alternative uv torch

The website has some nice flies under the fly collections tab

Hi Kev,
I bought a UV lamp from flea bay for £10 and some UV gels for £5. It's just the same set up wifies use for their nails in salons. At £50 for a UV torch the guy is having a laugh.
I,m experimenting at the moment.
Much better than epoxy, less waste, no smell, no yellowing, far less drying time (3 mins with a 9watt lamp).

Paul.

Sounds good I've ordered some of their bug bond and some from e-bay plus a uv lamp for £8.99.

Hi Kev,
Good stuff. We'll compare notes once my new camera arrives.
Paul.
