Title: First Outcast / GT140 comp win
Post by: Mike Heritage on 07/03/2010 at 21:25
More specific distances when I get them in but the Outcast outcast all other lines in the BFCC five weight comp at Newark on Saturday and only lost out in the Seven weight because the caster was not quite up to it, so not the lines fault :z6. Five weight it was 1st and second, by miles, and second in the 7 weight (not very far behind BTW).

Lots of people cast it, lots liked it, hope you have plenty in stock.

Not bad for a guy that built his brand on nice "fishing" 3wt rods really  :z4

Good to get some proper competition feedback, will have some spooled to go into the shootouts at the Sexyloops Gathering in May.

Cheers

Well done to both Mikes :z16
Here's hoping for more good news for you both as the year goes by.

I put my Outcast line on my rod for the first time yesterday and it has added at at least 5 metres to my maximum carry (but I'm not telling you how short that is) :z13

Well, actually it wasn't such good news for me personally, I was the idiot that came second in both events ??? Not the lines fault though. Jonathon Tomlinson won both events and he was impressed with the lines.

Unlucky Mike, you got beat by the Gerbil  :z4  Second is pretty respectable though, I would be happy with that particularly if Tomo was first.

Not chucked distance for ages.

Hi Mike :z16

Great stuff, there certainly wasn't much between you and Jonathan! It looks like you had a grand weekend and were very busy with tuition. I like the distance badge system ..... keep up the great work!

Mike, can we ease have a 9 or 10 weight version?

Still not tried th 5 weight over water but on grass it is a remarkably stable line in the air. With some tips from Ben I was getting beautiful, tight loops that were punching into a difficult wind with my zg and a bit of luck.

Title: The Barrio GT series has been "outcasting" this weekend
Post by: Mike Barrio on 11/10/2010 at 23:31
Hi folks

This weekend saw the last BFCC event of the year held at Brentwood in Essex and Jonathon Tomlinson continued his great casting, winning first place in the #5 competition at 129′ 7″ and first place in the #7 competition at 136′ 11″ ...... and in both cases he was casting with Barrio GT series fly lines. How cool is that! :shock

You can see all the results on the BFCC website, Jonathan and Mike did very well indeed. See http://www.thebfcc.co.uk/category/results (http://www.thebfcc.co.uk/category/results) ...... Well done guys!

Stefan also got in touch to let me know that he won first place in the #8 Seatrout distance competition in the Gothenbourg Open in Sweden! Stefan was using his own "home cut" shooting head version of a Barrio GT Series WF8F fly line. Well done Stefan!

What an awesome weekend
Best wishes
Mike
