Gave the Isla a go for the grayling at crathie bridge where it joins the dean but no joy still to cathc my first grayling, good to get out turned out to be a beautiful day. Think the other fishers i spent the day with probably had more joy than me spotted two of them cormorants.

This one was just at the junction where the Isla and dean meet.
Happy new year to all, all the best for 2010

When the weather gets this cold it's the only sensible thing to do. Even the Dee is frozen bank to bank up near Braemar.
cheers

We had some lazy days with good food and nice drinks upp in our cottage, south of Artic circle. No ice fishing, snow deep was 63cm and under a couple of nights we had a fantastic fullmoon and the temperture was down to -30.

-
If anyone wants a day on the Earn on Thursday i will be driving down from Montrose :z18
Grayling Galore down there at the moment :wink
-

Hi All,
That was PDQ Iain !!
Iain and I managed a go at Lochter today ,(sorry you had to work Jim ).
It was a surprisingly pleasant day if a bit cold.
Some pics.
One of the two places we could fish.
First blood to me . Excuse the pun. It took a pink bloodworm on a floating line (did have a pink tungsten bead head though). Very broad fish , we reckoned about 8 pound , but looks smaller in the piccie, as always.

Bye bye.
Then Iain got a fish too. Here he is giving it the butt, and the middle section , and the top section of his Sage two wt. Lovely rod . I want one.

Set for release .

Last knockings. Iain got one more and I hooked a large ice floe and lost the lot so we packed in.

Very enjoyable , thanks Iain.

Know its late but went out to Lochter on Sunday and fished my Winter league. Very Cold with not much free water to fish but had a good 3 hrs. 8 fish in total with a large double taken as well. Fell to the bloodworm on floater.
Least i have had my fix for the week.
