Popped into Kate Flemmings at Blairgowrie on the way down to order our new Alfa ;)..anyway...she has a bit of a sale on just now and had a "bagrin bucket" of lines.
I picked up a Cortland 555 WF 4 for £30 :)
Lots of Cortland 444's, Masterline Powerheads and Mastry going at 50% (Mostly #7s and 8s) and a few specialist lines such as the Cortland Saltwater intigrated shooting heads (Never seen those).
Also a around a dozen rods including a Loomis GL3, Redingtons etc.
And she also stocks Lamsons and has a few Litespeeds on offer sub £200 as well as the new Gurus etc.
Just thought I would pass this on if anyone is looking for some new tackle.

If you are a gardner the 555 will come in handy for tying up your runner beans :z4

Sorry Rob did not mean to rain on your parade but the 555 was not a good line. Kate Flemings is a cracking tackle shop though.

I like it! :z7
lol..loads up my XP 3 lovely, shoots well and has that familier "airflo" coil about it.. :z16
Having said that...only had £15 minutes in the garden with it. Certainly stiffer than my 444, but i like that in a line. A little coiling but again, a stretch and it seemed to go.
Will report back in 6 months :z18

Apparently the Airflo coiled spring effect is a thing of the past they have just launched the extra supple Ridge Line , heard good reports.
Its amazing that Airflo have made so many bad floaters over the years , their intermediates and sinker are probably the market leader.
By the way Rob I paid £55 for a 555 when they were first launched :oops

Jim,
Did a few searches for reviews just now...i get the impression there are two forms of the 555, one for warm weather and one for cool. Sexyloops gives it a huge thumbs up, as do several other forums..BUT..others, noticably US/Canadian forums gives it a thumbs down.
Considering I was casting in the snow I guess it could be classed as cold..and it was not too bad for coiling.
Hopefully I will get to try it out soon :)
Thanks for the heads up though..worth knowing. :z16
