Title: The Drum Salmon flies... the Collection
Post by: Rob Brownfield on 07/12/2008 at 13:56
David Irvine of Drum has kindly lent me the photos of his ancestors "Drum" flies  :grin The flies where tied by Winnie Fraser, head tyer at William Brown of Belmont Street. There are 13 unique patterns and where ordered by Alexander (Sandy) Irvine, 23rd Laird of Drum. Sandy was the desiner and specified the dressings. The flies would have been tied in the 1930's.

Anyway, here are the photos..enjoy.

Replied, i look forward to meeting you. Also have some new photos of the Drum and Drum Lightening that I took the other night whilst round at Davids. The Drum is tied using the family tartan colours of blue and white and is a rather bonny fly. I am going to dress one for there house so if you know of the exact dressing I would be grateful.
