Title: CDC SWAP!!!

General Swap Rules
Each tier will tie one pattern for the swap, and will tie one fly for each participant. For example, if you choose a PTN for a nymph swap with 10 participants, then you must tie 10 PTNs and send them to the swap master with a stamp addressed envelope.  
The swap master will collect the flies from each participant and then sort them, returning one fly from each participant to everyone involved. Each person in the swap then ends up with 10 different patterns (1 from each tier).

CDC SWAP
In this swap you can choose from Cormorants , Damsels or Cats.
Lets see if we can find 10 tiers first before we confirm a completion date.
All going well i would plan to have all the flies to be in by the Friday the 12th of December.

I saw what will be Clarks entry tonight. Looks very nice. Now I need to decide what I will tie.

I think it would be an idea to give a very brief description of your entry due to the "relatively" small variety of flies i think we will see.

Ok thats us with a full house so the sooner i get the flies the sooner i can send them back out!

I used to fish it a fair bit,but did not fish it at all last year,It fished well tho and i think more fish went in it than any other year.

Plenty brownies are showing in the feeder burns so thats a good sign :z4 ,plenty cormorants as well :mad  :mad.

how is everyone else getting on, hope to have the other 5 finished tonight and in the post tomorrow (I'm gonna stick £78.26 worth of spamps on the envelope to make sure  :z4 lol)

It could be because they are too wide for forum use? Please resize photos to 600 pixels wide (or less) if you want to post them on the forum :wink

They can be larger for the "Gallery", OK up to 800 pixels wide for in the gallery :cool:

I tied another of my Cormorants last night so that I could post the photo for you but with my macro on supersonic it apears that my body tinsel has gaps in it - to the naked eye you would swear that it was perfectly wrapped - flippin' cameras!

got 2 more tied last night. So if my maths is correct 6 + 2 = 8   11 - 8 = 3

so i have 3 to tie tongiht then pop them in the post tomorrow (with plenty of stamps (one 2nd class lol))  :z8  :z13

That's mine ready to post tomorrow, have put on 2 x 1st class stamps but will take it to the Post Office & check that it's enough, have written on one of the bags "casting for recovery" other bag is for the swap. :z16

By the way we still have the Fly tying-comp to consider, how you getting on? Are you posted to the same Rig/Platform - do you have your tying gear offshore?

Iam on same place every time  for 2 week vacation and this is the place to be to stock up the fly box, No one here to get im my way or ask me to cook the tea!
As for the winter comp i will post them when i get onshore, not worried about getting them marked as they look brown and not to posh!  :cry

So I went out and bought 12 1st class stamps on friday and lunch also. End of day binned the bag with stamps still in it.

I remember taking the envelope out on Thurs at the fly tying thing to show Clark. Then sure I got it back and put it back in my box.

It will show up didnt really have time to search this morning. Will have a good root about tonight. If not I'll have to tie another set, but will need to buy more V Rib haha

I did get Steamboats on Friday night haha

Nah I remember my mate picking them up for me on thurs night. Then I think he put them in my Glovebox, so will check there when Im in the car next.

Was at the flytying in the ferry tonight and me and jim doyle were talking of a spot of grayling on the isla!
Most of the fisheries are frozen over the now so be as well getting some action else where!

Right Im 100% my mate has lost the flies.

So I propose, if its ok with all the entrants, that Bigtroot still sends me my set. I'll start to tie up another set and send one to each entrant separately, so you will need to pm me your addresses. Doing this as I need to get more V-Rib. Unless people dont mind a slight change of body Material. I could try get them done by the end of the week, and posted to Bigtroot on Monday?

Hi folks

I grabbed my vice and a few bits and pieces while over at the loch today :oops Thought it might be a good idea to bring them home and have a go at tying my flies here instead. Haddo and the surrounding area was sitting at minus 1.5 degrees and it was minus 2 in the hut ....... my old fingers won't work in that :z3

Well iam offshore on Monday and iam fishing Sat and Sun so i wont have time to do the
